Forgle has no player accounts and does not require a name or email address to play. Game progress is kept in your browser. The site uses limited operational and aggregate measurement described below.
Game progress on this device
Forgle uses browser local storage for daily and practice progress, results, streaks, statistics, preferences and consent choices. That information stays in this browser unless a feature explicitly says it will send something. You can remove it by clearing site data in your browser; doing so also removes local progress and streak history.
The core game does not intentionally set first-party advertising cookies. Local records remain until you clear them or Forgle’s bounded-storage maintenance removes older detail while preserving aggregate statistics.
Hosting and security logs
Requests pass through Cloudflare and the Forgle origin server. Caddy keeps access logs for reliability, abuse prevention and incident diagnosis. A log can include the requested path, time, response status, network address, referrer and browser user-agent. The server is configured to rotate files at 20 MB and retain up to seven rotated files; this is a size-based limit, not a promise of a fixed number of days.
Cloudflare
Cloudflare provides DNS, content delivery, TLS and security services and may process network request data for those purposes. Cloudflare Web Analytics is also used for aggregate traffic and performance measurement, such as visits, page views and loading performance. Forgle does not use those aggregate reports to create player accounts or cross-device game profiles.
Rejected-word reports
After DECAY rejects a word, you may choose Report it. Only after that click, Forgle sends Web3Forms the game name, puzzle number, reported word, current source word and date so the puzzle dictionary can be reviewed. Web3Forms also receives the network information ordinarily involved in handling a web request. Do not submit personal or sensitive information as a reported word.
Product analytics
Forgle uses hosted Umami Cloud to understand whether players start, finish, share or return to games. Events may include the game and puzzle, practice status, result category, score, hints, page/referrer and limited campaign labels. Umami also receives routine technical fields used for aggregate reporting, such as the page URL, browser, device, language and approximate location. Forgle does not send names, email addresses, puzzle answers or raw guesses, and does not assign a persistent cross-device player identifier. Umami is configured without cookies, raw URL searches or URL fragments. The loader respects a supported Do Not Track signal and does not load Umami when that signal is enabled. Automatic Umami page tracking is disabled because Cloudflare remains Forgle's page-view source. The current Hobby plan retains measurement data for up to six months; Umami Cloud operates in the US and EU.
Consent, Do Not Track and advertising
Advertising and personalized-ad consent are disabled in the current site. If advertising is introduced, Forgle’s current stance is to require an affirmative consent choice before personalized ads and to refuse them when the browser sends a supported Do Not Track signal. Necessary hosting, security and aggregate operational measurement may still occur.
Retention and sharing
- Browser game data remains on your device as described above.
- Origin logs follow the size-based rotation limit described above.
- Hosted Umami measurement data is retained for up to six months under the current Hobby plan.
- Umami, Cloudflare and Web3Forms process and retain data under their own service policies.
- Forgle does not sell player data. Provider access is limited to operating, securing, measuring and improving the site.
